Traditional hyperlinks or direct edges in a graph point from A to B, conveying a basic connection. nthlink expands this idea by explicitly modeling and operationalizing multihop relationships: not just the direct neighbor, but the chain, context, provenance, and trust that connect two nodes through one or more intermediaries. This perspective enables new kinds of discovery, verification, and user experiences. At its core, nthlink treats a link as a path object rather than a single pointer. A path can include metadata about each hop: who created it, when, the method of traversal, relevance scores, and cryptographic proofs where applicable. By capturing hop-level attributes, nthlink supports richer queries (for example, find all 2-hop connections from a dataset that pass through verified sources), enables provenance tracking (show the sequence of curations leading to this recommendation), and facilitates trust computation across the path.
